Lagos Street Lighting Control QULON

Lagos

Nigeria

In the project implemented in Lagos, Nigeria, the Power Line Simpline technology was utilized for data transmission through the power lines to control 22,500 luminaire sections. The installation included controllers placed in lighting poles and controllers located in lighting control cabinets.

Simpline leverages the existing power line infrastructure to transmit data and control commands between the controllers and luminaires. This approach ensures efficient and reliable communication without the need for additional communication lines.

The controllers installed in the lighting poles enable individual control and monitoring of each luminaire. They offer the capability to adjust lighting parameters, monitor the status of the luminaires, and track energy consumption. The controllers in the lighting control cabinets provide centralized management and monitoring of the entire lighting system across the city.

This project in Lagos, Nigeria, has achieved effective lighting management, improved energy efficiency, and enhanced safety and comfort for the city's residents. The Simpline technology has effectively utilized the existing power line infrastructure to implement a lighting control system for a large number of luminaires in Lagos.
